TSRC Sports Car Challenge S1 Round 3 Debrief

The TSRC Sports Car Challenge's third round at Watkins Glen International was nothing short of a racing spectacle. Watkins Glen, known for its rich history in motorsport, has been a staple in American racing since 1948. This legendary track, often referred to as "The Glen," promised high-speed thrills and did not disappoint.

Pole Positions: A Showcase of Skill

In the LMP3 category, Nick Clibbens clinched pole with a remarkable 1:40.605, closely followed by Gergely Kun-Szabo. The GT4 class saw Nils Corr dominate qualifying, securing pole with a 1:53.028, leaving Tom Davidson trailing in P2.

LMP3: Clibbens Leads the Charge

As the race roared into action, Clibbens maintained his lead in the LMP3 field with a commanding start. Maurice Pichler showcased his skills, overtaking Kun-Szabo for P2. Unfortunately, Josh Millington, a consistent front-runner, faced a challenging race with two early crashes, ending his hopes of a finish. Kun-Szabo, narrowly avoiding a similar fate, recovered impressively to secure a spot on the podium.

GT4: A Tumultuous Battle

The GT4 class was rife with excitement and drama. Tom Davidson's sluggish start saw him lose ground to Kieran Sharp and Jack Southfield. Ryan Walker, riding on the momentum of his previous performance, engaged in a fierce battle with Liam Giles, pushing hard until the final moments. The race's later stages brought a dramatic turn for Sharp, whose costly incident allowed Davidson to reclaim his podium position. Nils Corr, demonstrating remarkable consistency and skill, crossed the finish line first in the GT4 class.

Upcoming Challenges

With Clibbens taking the LMP3 class victory and Corr reigning in GT4, the stage is set for the next round at Nürburgring circuit. Nürburgring will undoubtedly pose new challenges and opportunities for drama and action. As the TSRC series progresses, anticipation builds for what promises to be another enthralling round of racing.
