TSRC Sports Car Series Round 2 Debrief

Round two of the TSRC Sports Car Series saw the grid head to the newly rescanned Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps. With a fresh update to the track, drivers had to relearn a circuit that is usually familiar to them.

Qualifying demanded great confidence from the drivers, with Jamie Nuttall once again securing pole position in the GTP class, while Jack Southfield took pole in the GT3 class, driving the fan-favourite Ford Mustang GT3.

The first lap offered significant opportunities for overtaking, and both Nuttall and Southfield made strong efforts to hold their leads. Further down the field, a thrilling battle unfolded among GTP drivers Liam Knott, Will Bradford, and Patrick Dehn before the time came to navigate through the slower GT3 traffic. In the GT3 class, the competition was just as intense. Despite the challenge of faster GTP cars dicing through, drivers like Toomas Kaarna, Grant Miller, Hayden Miller, and Miguel Ferreira showcased fearless racing, applying pressure on each other.

As the race progressed, a dramatic moment saw Tom Davidson take the lead after Jamie Nuttall made a costly mistake. This was an impressive result for Davidson, competing in his first race of the season after missing the opening round. Meanwhile, Jack Southfield once again displayed dominance in the GT3 class. As has become the norm when he joins the grid, Southfield’s performance suggests the rest of the field will need to step up their game to challenge him in the upcoming rounds.

Next, the drivers head to Suzuka, which may prove to be the toughest round yet. With the championship still in its early stages, everything is up for grabs. Be sure to tune in to our next article to catch up on all the action.
